Plaksha University – Robotic Hand

In June 2023, I completed a two-week immersive summer program at Plaksha University, Mohali, where I gained practical exposure to microprocessors, electronics, and Arduino-based C++ programming. As my capstone project, I designed and built a robotic hand prototype powered by EMG (electromyography) sensors, which captured muscle activity and translated it into real-time motion replication. By seamlessly integrating EMG signals with Arduino control systems, the prototype demonstrated how natural human gestures could be mirrored by robotic systems. Beyond being a technical exercise, this project explored real-world applications in prosthetics and rehabilitation technologies, offering potential pathways to assist individuals with mobility impairments. It also underscored the broader role of human-machine interaction in shaping the future of healthcare and assistive robotics, while strengthening my ability to bridge theory and innovation in practice.
