Summer Internships
In Finance and Technology
These summer internships provided hands-on experience at the intersection of finance, technology, and data analytics. Across roles at NSE Cogencis, JM Mutual Fund, and Invesco Mutual Fund, I worked on financial performance evaluation, automation of data workflows, valuation modeling, and dashboard development. Each internship strengthened my ability to integrate technical skills with financial analysis, translating complex datasets into actionable insights and improving operational efficiency in real-world investment environments.

NSE Cogencis | Summer Intern
In July 2025, I completed a four-week summer internship at NSE Cogencis, Mumbai, working under the Vice President of Technology on projects at the intersection of research and data engineering. My work involved evaluating mutual fund performance through advanced financial metrics such as Sharpe ratios, Jensen’s alpha, and tracking error, while benchmarking active funds against sectoral indices to assess relative performance. I also conducted policy-focused research, analyzing the impact of SEBI’s expense-ratio caps and categorization norms on capital inflows, portfolio positioning, and investor participation. On the technical front, I developed a Python-based pipeline to automatically parse BSE annual reports and mutual fund prospectuses, enabling structured data extraction at scale. To make insights accessible, I designed an interactive dashboard for rolling-window and regime-based analytics, linking macro-economic signals to shifts in investor behavior. This project not only strengthened my expertise in financial analytics and regulatory research but also showcased my ability to integrate data engineering with applied finance to generate actionable insights.

JM Mutual Fund | Technology Intern
From June to July 2024, I worked as a Technology Intern at JM Mutual Fund, Mumbai, where I contributed to projects at the intersection of data automation and digital strategy. I designed and implemented advanced scripting solutions that automated the collection and analysis of Daily Transaction Records, consolidating them into structured monthly reports with actionable insights and visual dashboards. This not only eliminated manual errors but also reduced processing time significantly, streamlining reporting efficiency for the operations team. In parallel, I worked on the firm’s digital presence and SEO strategy, leading the deployment of Google Tag Manager and applying targeted optimization techniques that improved the fund’s search engine rankings and online visibility in a competitive sector. My technical contributions created a strong post-internship impact, with supervisors continuing to seek my input for key technology initiatives, reflecting the long-term value of my work.
August 2025 (3 weeks)
Invesco Mutual Fund | Project Intern
Under the guidance of a Senior Fund Manager at Invesco, I developed a dynamic DCF valuation template that consolidated key learning—forecasting free cash flows, estimating WACC, and triangulating terminal value through both Gordon growth and exit-multiple methods. I evaluated when FCFF versus FCFE would be most appropriate given different capital structures, built sensitivity tables on growth and discount-rate assumptions, and compiled notes linking business model drivers to valuation outcomes. On the technical side, I streamlined data inputs and automated error checks in Excel and Python, using the model to run scenarios and articulate thesis catalysts with greater clarity. These experiences not only strengthened my technical toolkit but also deepened my ability to translate firm-level fundamentals into disciplined valuation judgments that supported the broader research effort.
