Community Service
Mentorship, Volunteering, and STEM Outreach
Community engagement and mentorship have been central to my efforts in creating meaningful impact through education and technology. By mentoring robotics teams, volunteering with children with intellectual disabilities, and founding CodeUplift, I have worked to make STEM education accessible, inclusive, and empowering. These initiatives have not only provided technical skills and leadership opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds but have also fostered confidence, independence, and long-term social impact within the communities I serve.

Mentored 12 FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, including 3 international teams from Colombo, 2 all-girls teams, and 2 teams with hearing impairments, providing technical guidance, strategy, and leadership development. Organized fundraising campaigns raising approximately $30,000 to support FTC competitions in India and my FRC team. Showcased my team’s robot and promoted STEM education to national and international government officials at the G20 Deep Tech Summit in Bangalore. Served as Regional Partner for FIRST Ladies, writing blog posts and leading the FTC Girls in FIRST Hackathon & Design Challenge, driving initiatives to advance girls in STEM.
Volunteered weekly to teach 50+ children with intellectual disabilities from underserved backgrounds, focusing on reading, writing, and communication skills to foster confidence and independence. Adapted educational approaches to individual needs while supporting the foundation’s mission of inclusion and skill development, resulting in measurable growth in literacy and life skills.
Founded CodeUplift, partnering with the Akanksha Foundation to teach coding to 9th and 10th-grade students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Initiated a sustainable program that evolved from a summer project into a long-term initiative, equipping students with technical skills, hands-on experience, and access to internships and tech career opportunities, fostering meaningful improvements in employability and empowerment.
