IoT Gas Leak Detector

Between May and September 2022, I designed and developed an IoT-enabled gas leak detector in Mumbai, aimed at providing a scalable and practical safety solution for households and industries. The device was engineered to detect propane gas leaks with high accuracy and respond immediately through a dual-alert system: an on-site buzzer for instant warning and integrated email notifications for remote monitoring, ensuring safety even when occupants were away. Powered by an ESP8266 microcontroller programmed in Arduino-based C++, the prototype showcased robust hardware-software integration and reliability in real-world testing. By combining affordability with advanced IoT capabilities, the project demonstrated clear potential for commercial deployment in residential, industrial, and public safety applications.
